Since Fall 2016, Montgomery County has been requiring Sellers of Single-Family Homes to provide Radon Inspection reports to Buyers prior to settlement.  However, it is important to understand that this is not a requirement for the Seller to remediate elevated levels of radon, if they are found.  Buyers should request a contingency and order an inspection themselves during that contingency period if they wish to have the ability to request remediation by the Seller if the results exceed 4.0.

The flyer below has more information about Radon, and lists exemptions to the Seller requirement.
